The story of how New Tribes came to Hewa:

(In Brian's words)

"Seban, one of our Hewa leaders, walked 30 miles to a neighboring New Tribes Mission out station to ask for missionaries to come to his village, called Hewa. His brother lived in this New Tribes out station and accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Seban saw first hand how the gospel can change lives. The Hewa people live in constant fear and Seban could see that now his brother and friends no longer lived that way. We "happened" to be visiting friends at the out station and met Seben on one of his pilgrimages to ask for missionaries. After meeting him and hearing his plea and after doing some research and surveys we moved into Hewa. We are now in the process of learning the Hewa language in the hopes of one day soon be able to share the gospel to them in their own tongue."
